The One Billion Rising Campaign is a campaign which occurs in around the world on Valentine's Day, February 14th. The event, which incorporates an upbeat song and dance, will be performed at Cleveland State University by Cleveland State Students and Cleveland area residents at 11 in the Student Center and at 12:30 at Star Plaza.
We are calling you to rise and dance to make a statement of support to people in the community who have experience sexual, gender, and domestic violence. An example of the song and dance can be viewed through the link below: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fL5N8rSy4CU
Practices for the event will take place in the MC Auditorium from 7-8 on January 16, 23, and 30th and February 6 and 13th, and in the Howard A. Mims African American Cultural Center from 11:30-12:30 on Jan 14 and 28th and February 4 and 11th. We also invite people to come watch the dance and provide support on Valentine's Day!
